May 25, 2006 James gets to pilot a North American NAB-25N Mitchell Bomber (#44-28932) made in 1944.
I had a Once In A Life Time Experience on Thursday. I was able to fly, with Sondra and a buddy riding along, a North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber.
I got to take her from Napa, CA out over the bay and did a sortie over the Golden Gate bridge. I flew out over the golden gate and around the VA facility at the north-western part of San Francisco.
I passed by the bridge again and then once in the north bay dropped the B-25 down to 300 feet to get a sense of what the Doolittle Raids must have experienced on their way to Tokyo.
I was very lucky and will remember it for the rest of my life.
